Ecoolive Pillar olive wax

EcoOlive wax is a 100% natural combination, composed predominantly of olive wax, enriched with natural additives for more efficient burning and improved scent dispersion. This wax does not contain genetically modified ingredients, palm or paraffin-based products. It is biodegradable and environmentally friendly.

EcoOlive is intended for the production of in-mold candles. It offers excellent scent dispersion in hot and cold, a smooth finished surface with a subtle sheen.

A single pour is enough to achieve smooth peaks on the first pour and re-pour, and the adhesion to the glass is excellent. EcoOlive PillarBlend facilitates easy release from the matrix. This wax can support a flavor load of up to 12% with flavor oils specially formulated for use with natural waxes.

Melting and casting

High temperatures, for short periods (up to 90°C), have no adverse effect, as long as the wax is cooled back down quickly. Higher temperatures may cause the wax to discolour. Allow the wax to cool to the desired pouring temperature, add the flavouring and mix well.

Make sure to stir the wax while melting. Avoid using containers containing copper and zinc, as this can accelerate fading.

Casting temperatures may vary depending on the type and size of the mold, the flavors, colorants used, and the effects you desire.

Easy release from the mold can be achieved by casting at a temperature of approximately 65°C, although this will depend on the size and shape of the candle produced.

The flavoring should be added and mixed immediately before pouring. If you are having difficulty with the pouring temperature, try a lower or higher temperature in 5 - 10°C increments.

Wicks

Natural waxes tend to require larger wick sizes than traditional paraffin waxes.

The aroma, color, and configuration of the candle have a big impact on choosing the right wick.

A wick that is too large can cause smoking, accelerated burning, and wax run-off (wax leaking out the sides of the candle). A wick that is too small will cause tunneling and produce a smaller flame.

Burning testing should be performed after the candle has had a chance to sit for 48 hours after pouring.

Dye

You can use liquid candle dyes or solid candle dyes specifically designed for soy wax. Bekro dyes are perfect for this type of wax.

When using wax dyes, heat the wax to approximately 75°C, add the dye and stir until dissolved.

Wax dyes can also be dissolved in flavoring and then added to the melted wax; make sure the dye has completely dissolved before adding.

When using dissolved flavoring dyes, liquid dyes, or color blocks, heat the wax to 70°C.

Perfume

EcoOlive PillarBlend has been designed to support fragrance oil in concentrations between 5 - 12%. It is recommended to use fragrances specifically developed for use with natural waxes.

Some fragrances can react negatively with the wax, causing leaks, unpleasant surface finishes or poor flame quality. This has been found to be exacerbated when using fragrances specifically developed for paraffin candles and some essential oils.

Keep in mind that being a 100% vegetable product, the burning can be influenced by any other product added to the mixture (no. perfume, dye).
