Ecoolive Pillar olive wax

EcoOlive wax is a 100% natural combination, mainly composed of olive wax, enriched with natural additives for more efficient burning and improved odor dispersion. This wax does not contain genetically modified ingredients, palm oil or paraffin based products. It is biodegradable and environmentally friendly.

EcoOlive is intended for the production of pillar and scented pillar candles. Provides excellent odor dispersion in hot and cold, a smooth finished surface with a subtle sheen.

One pour is enough to get smooth tips on the first pour and refill, and the adhesion to the glass is excellent. EcoOlive PillarBlend facilitates easy release from the matrix. This wax can support a fragrance load of up to 12% with fragrance oils specially created for use with natural waxes.

Melting and casting

High temperatures, for short periods (up to 90°C), have no adverse effect, as long as the wax is quickly cooled back down. Higher temperatures can cause wax discoloration. Allow wax to cool to desired pouring temperature, add flavoring and mix well.

Be sure to stir the wax while melting. Avoid using containers that contain copper and zinc, as this can accelerate discoloration.

Casting temperatures can vary depending on the type and size of the mold, the flavors, the dyes used and the effects you want.

Easy release from the mold can be achieved by casting at a temperature of around 65°C, although this will depend on the size and shape of the candle being produced.

The flavor should be added and mixed immediately before pouring. If you have difficulty with the pour temperature, try a lower or higher temperature in increments of 5 - 10°C

Wicks

Natural waxes tend to require larger wick sizes than traditional paraffin waxes.

The scent, color and configuration of the candle have a big impact on choosing the right wick.

A wick that is too large can cause smoking, accelerated burning, and wax leakage (wax leaking down the sides of the candle). A wick that is too small will cause tunneling and produce a smaller flame.

Burn testing should be done after the candle has had a chance to sit for 48 hours after pouring.

Dye

You can use liquid candle dyes or solid candle dyes specially created for soy wax. Bekro dyes are perfect for this type of wax.

When using wax dyes, heat the wax to about 75°C, add the dye and mix until dissolved.

Wax dyes can also be dissolved in flavoring and then added to the melted wax; make sure the dye is completely dissolved before adding.

When using flavored dyes, liquid dyes or color blocks, heat the wax to 70°C.

Perfume

EcoOlive PillarBlend has been designed to support fragrance oil in concentrations between 5 - 12%. It is recommended to use specially developed aromas for use with natural waxes.

Some flavors can react negatively with the wax, causing leakage, unpleasant surface finishes or poor flame quality. This was found to be accentuated in the case of the use of aromas specially developed for paraffin candles and some essential oils.

Keep in mind that being a 100% plant-based product, the combustion can be influenced by any other product added to the mixture (no perfume, dye).
