The new blend from Proquinat welcomes crafters with a perfectly balanced blend for pouring candles into containers. The wax is 100% soy, contains no other forms of additives and can be mixed with other types of wax.
The pouring temperature must be around 58 °C - 60 °C , depending on the geometry of the container.
Attention: Soy wax MC49 is specially created for pouring into containers. Casting in silicone molds is not recommended. For casting in silicone molds, it must be mixed with vegetable stearin, paraffin or beeswax. The latter have strengthening properties.
It can be used in mixtures with coconut wax, palm wax, rapeseed wax, beeswax, different types of paraffin or stearin (vegetable or non-vegetable)
Avoid heating above 85°C. These temperatures can lead to discoloration of the wax, poor adhesion and irregular surface. Make sure to stir all the time and stir the wax even as it melts. After melting, let the wax cool to ~60°C-65°C, add the perfume and mix well until the wax reaches ~58°C.
Casting temperatures can vary depending on the type and size of the mold, the perfume and paint used and the effects the candle maker wants to achieve. Greater adhesion to containers can be achieved by pouring at a temperature close to the hardening point (approximately 45 - 50 °C). The perfume must be added and mixed immediately before pouring, around 60°C. If you encounter difficulties with the pouring temperature, try a lower or higher temperature in steps of 5 - 10 °C. Consider pouring in preheated molds for better adhesion.
Waxed wicks tend to work best with MC49 wax, but clean wicks can also be used successfully. Following our tests, TCR wicks were specially chosen for this wax. As well as the wooden wicks, doubled for a more optimized combustion.
The containers must be clean and without contaminating substances. They should be at least at room temperature, although preheating them to 40°C-50°C can
it brings some amazing results. Warm ambient temperature (20°C), heated container and prevention of rapid temperature changes during cooling will reduce the probability of polymorphism / freezing.
You can use liquid or solid dyes specially created for soy wax.
Wax MC49 can hold between 5% and 10% perfumes; both pure organic oils and essential oils. You must test before using essential oils. In general, the burning power of vegetable waxes is affected by dyes and perfumes
The benefits of soy wax MC49:
- Non-toxic wax, without chemical additives
- Clean combustion, without smoke
- Natural and renewable source
